just an update on the car:
can't go racing tomorrow, it overheats( have to check the amount of the coolant), tires rubbing against fenders in rear(need to take the lowering kit out), carb's are sticking( putting 1.5" SU's with K&N filters on) but have to change the head to accept the big carbs, while loading the car, the jack that was holding it up broke, and part of the trailer went up into the car, which made the seat come out, then the trailer bent the exhaust which i just fabricated, so its out of action for a while.

The car weighs about 1500 lbs, I'm planning on taking more stuff out to lighten it, since i put the windshield, and another seat in, it needs to go on a diet.

Just an update: I ported the head, put MGB carbs on, modified the intake manifold, put in a new oil filtering system, put roller rockers on, put in a new drivers seat, modified the rollbar, put K&N filters on, made a new exhaust system. Now, I have to fabricate a cold air intake box, and make it street legal.

nope, its not street legal yet. I have to replace the steering rack, there is something wrong with it. My dad found out about it during a race and have major understeer, and spun out and couldn't go at any high speed. Then the rear axle started to leak. So I have to work on that before modifing the car so its street legal.

    A little update:

First I made a braket for the fuel cell out of 1x2 tube steel, then found out I had to drop the stock fuel tank(it was time for a fuel system change, the gas was black and rust ), dropped the tank, drilled the necessary holes, mounted the fuel cell, then started setting up the plumbing. Its made with -6AN line with the appropriate fittings. The system goes, out of the fuel cell, fuel filters, fuel pumps, two lines come together, then to the fuel pressure regulator near the oil filter up front, then onto the carbs.

For the battery, I took aluminum stock cut it so it fits the contours of the battery, took two pieces of the 1/2" and layered them and drilled the holes and bolted it in.

I did all this work and a lot more over the past 3 days for a race at LimeRock, my dad got around Turn 1 and the front brakes totally locked up, end of the race for us.

I replaced the steering rack, added camber bushings up front, resealed the rear end, now just to fix the brakes. And a hub/ rear axle conversion is coming up shortly, just got the wheels back from powercoating and they are getting wrapped with yokohama A032R's.

I was supposed to be dropped on H&R coilovers by now, with a VR6 swap sitting in my uncle's garage with the block sent out to get bored over. Now I'm looking at a cheap spring/shock combo and there's no motor in sight for a long time. Fuggin' cars...
