The Mercedes-Benz EQS is an electric full-size luxury sedan produced by the German automobile manufacturer Mercedes-Benz. It is part of the EQ family, a range that will expand to include 10 new models by 2022
Presentation
The EQS was presented at the International Motor Show Germany in 2019 as the Mercedes-Benz Vision EQS and foreshadows the future Mercedes-Benz series luxury electric sedan announced for 2021. The world premiere of the EQS serial model has been announced for April 15, 2021
Technical details
The EQS is based on the technical platform specific to the electric models named MEA, the first EQ model to do so.
The drag coefficient is as low as 0.20 and therefore the EQS is the most aerodynamic production car to date.
It is equipped with a light grille made with a matrix of 188 LEDs, when the rear receives a light strip called "Lightbelt" composed of 229 bright stars across the width of the EQS.
MBUX Hyperscreen
The high end versions of Mercedes-Benz EQS feature three separate OLED screens that covers nearly the full extension of the dashboard. The whole infotainment system is powered by eight CPU cores and 24-gigabytes of RAM.
It has about 377 square inches of screen. It consists of three separate displays under one glass panel. The multi-purpose digital dashboard has been well received.
