Already announced earlier this year, Morgan have now completed the first Plus 8 GTR. Limited to just nine examples, it is a final send off for the bonded 'Aero' chassis. It boasts many cues inspired by the original Plus 8 GTR of the mid-1990s, which was the first Morgan that used the bonded aluminium chassis. Each car is built to the configuration specified by the customer, so no two will be alike. All Plus 8 GTRs will use a re-tuned version of the 4.8-litre BMW V8 engine, which now produces 375 bhp, making it the most powerful road legal Morgan to date. The first car has now been built and Morgan expect the rest to be finished in the first months of 2022.
French racing car manufacturer Ligier decided it was time to showcase what it was capable of when not shackled by regulations. The result is this JS PX; a big brother to the current range of Ligier sports prototypes. It is powered by a Ligier-prepared twin-turbo V6 engine, which is good for 825 bhp. The unrestricted track-day machine also serves as celebration of the hugely successful 2016 season when Ligier won the Daytona 24 Hours, Sebring 12 Hours and Petit Le Mans outright. The JS PX is available for sale and Ligier offer a Ferrari XX-style 'arrive and drive' scheme. This requires owners simply to show up at the race track and find their car ready to go.
