Despite Retromobile being postponed one month, both RM Sotheby's and Bonhams will go ahead with their sales that originally were scheduled to coincide with the show in Paris. Both auctioneers have consigned some fabulous Ferrari supercars. Headlining the RM sale is this lovely F50, which was delivered new to France. Regularly used and Classiche Certified, chassis 105053 is estimated to sell for €3 million.
Also included in the February 2nd sale is another part of the Petitjean Collection; the Ferraris. The most valuable car of the bunch is this 288 GTO, which was sold new to German racer Bepp Mayer. It has been part of the collection since the end of the 1990s and has been on static display for several years. Although in need of a recommission, 55169 has a pre-sale estimate of around €2.5 million.
The Bonhams sale, now staged in the temporary exhibition hall, The Grand Palais Éphémère is due to be held on February 3rd. With a €2 - 2.5 million estimate, the Grandes Marques du Monde auction should be topped by this LaFerrari. Although originally painted red and delivered to Germany, it was subsequently painted in a striking yellow with matching interior and grey wheels. Barely used, 203343 spent most of its life in Switzerland.
