Last month, we managed to stretch our summer with one more weekend by attending the Estoril Classics. Hosted by the undulating Circuito Estoril, the event served as the season finale for the Peter Auto series for the third year running. With Covid19 restrictions now fully lifted, it was also the first time for the local fans to fully enjoy the spectacle from both the grandstands and inside the paddock. They were treated to a great selection of sports racers, grand tourers and touring cars from the 1950s through to the 2000s. As an added bonus, there were two 20-minute races for pre-1986 Formula 1 cars. Under beautiful blue skies, the action started on Thursday afternoon and ran non-stop until the final race finished at the end of the afternoon on Sunday. Among the many highlights was the Sixties' Endurance race that ran into the sunset, the Endurance Racing Legends fight between two MG-Lolas and a great comeback drive to victory in Classic Endurance Racing 2. Our photographers were on hand throughout the weekend with this class-by-class 200-shot gallery as the result. It serves to illustrate our concise report.
