At last night's Los Angeles Auto Show, Porsche revealed the hotly anticipated 911 Dakar. This fully road-legal 992-generation 911 is also a capable off-roader. Despite the raised suspension and additional off-roading equipment, a comprehensive weight saving effort throughout means that the 911 Dakar is a mere 10 kg heavier than the similarly engined 911 Carrera 4 GTS. Available as a €26,061 option is the striking Paris-Dakar inspired Rally Design Package. In lieu of the tobacco sponsorship, this includes 'Roughroads' lettering on the door and customers have the option to choose a number from 0 - 999.
Later this month, Lamborghini will launch a direct rival for the 911 Dakar in the form of the Huracán Sterrato. Italian for 'gravel', the Sterrato will also feature raised suspension, flared wheel-arches, additional lights and supports for a roof-rack.
Also unveiled at the LA Auto Show was this fabulous Genesis X Convertible Concept. Styled under the supervision of Luc Donckerwolke, it is very much a teaser of what the next range topping model from Hyundai's luxury arm will look like. Before that will be introduced, a third X Concept with fastback styling will debut.
