As part of the Amelia Island concours d'elegance week, Bonhams will host their annual sale at the Fernandina Beach Golf Club. Headlining the sale is this one-off Bugatti Type 57 SC Vanden Plas Roadster, which was acquired by the current owner at the same auction seven years ago. In the interim, it has been meticulously restored and shown at several great events around the world. It is estimated to find a new owner for over $10 million. Also consigned is the remarkably original Ferrari 500 Superfast. It was sold new to the United States and has never been fully restored. Offered at no reserve, 8817SF should sell for over $1 million. Consigned together with the rest of the Hendricks Lost Jaguar Collection is this time-warp Lister Costin. It was raced extensively between 1959 and 1973, and then by stark contrast had not seen any action for the next 50 years.
Earlier today, the Mercedes-Benz F1 team took to the track for the first time with their W14 E-Performance Grand Prix car. The team hopes the wrongs of last year's W13 have been set right with the new car. In order to save weight, the Mercedes have also reverted back to an all-black livery for the W14.
Ahead of the 2023 season, McLaren have introduced the 720S GT3 Evo. As the name suggests, it is an evolution of the 720S GT3 racer. The Evo can be acquired as a complete car or as an upgrade package by existing customers.
