It was a busy week on Amelia Island, just off the coast of Florida. All activities culminated with the concours d'elegance on Sunday where this Voisin C25 Aérodyne and the Le Mans-winning Ferrari 250 LM picked up the two 'best of show' trophies.
The build-up was formed by a succession of auctions. Leading the way was the two-day Gooding Amelia Island Auctions with a $72.6 million worth of sales and a 95% sell-through rate. Topping the auction was this Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spyder, which found a new owner for just over $18 million.
The very last RM Sotheby's Amelia Island sale saw 91% for the automotive lots change hands for a total of $63.7 million. It was a modern hypercar, a Pagani Zonda R Evoluzione that topped the sale at $5.3 million.
The Bonhams Auction on Thursday had a 78% sell through rate with a gross revenue of $12.8 million. The very original Ferrari 500 Superfast performed best at $1.9 million.
