Wel i get my license in about 2 ish years..and my parents have saved up money for my first car, which looks to be around the price range of a 2nd hand Renault Clio sport. which would be awesome. Preferably in black.. so i can get white labels ( to look like the clio in the 2nd pic )

    Does that include insurance?

So far I have yet to find a quote for less than £1000, on anything, even a bloody 1.0 Corsa

I have decided that instead of paying huge ammounts to insure a crap car, I will spend a bit more on insurance and get something with a bit more pace.

However, being a student, I don't have any money...
    However;
student for the next 3 years - No money
Job after that - Loads of money - TVR
    Thanks for all the fish

I'm not on the line like most techs are. I'm only hourly because this is a temporary job and I am going to school for something else. I used to be enrolled in the ASSET Program, but got out when a previous dealership screwed me. Right now, I am looking for a job elsewhere, so I won't be a tech for much longer.

    Alfa 147 1.6 Twin Spark (120bhp version)
    Renault Mégane Coupé 1.6 16V
Renault Clio RS (if the taxes and insurance weren't that high for someone who just got his license)

well an 1992 Oldsmobile toronado Trofeo for it's GT derived suspension, good looks nad it's ahead-of-it's-time features.

    1997 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme

    both loaded.

    my ideal Trofeo.

    my ideal cutlass.

the only diffrence is that I would have mine with the rear armrest, leather, the alloy wheels, and in Aquaris blue.
I have found a new love in the form of a tristar.

Yeah, I'm definitely with you on the whole Renault Clio thing, but I wanna go a little more retro and go for the mid-nineties Clio Williams. I've had a look around but being quite a limited edition there aren't a lot around. Plus, being such a notorious and fun little drivers car most of them have taken a serious thrashing for the past decade or so. 2nd hand purchase prices seem pretty reasonable, but I'm terrified at what (probably costly) problems might be lurking under the surface of such hard driven cars.

However, as your first car I wouldn't recommend going for something so expensive to insure. In my mind that's just throwing money away, because all insurance companies are having a field day with premiums for teenaged first time drivers. Especially anything with the word "sport" or "gti" included anywhere on the car like most hot hatches. You're best off just buying something cheap but reliable and building up a few years NCB before moving up to something a bit more frisky IMHO.
