NO, the SMOOTHEST acceleration going, gear change every 1-2 seconds

Motorbike sequential gearchanges and VERY low intertia ( almost NO flywheel ) so VERY fast, slick changes.

Will try to fnd IoM recording, one of us did get it !!

'Net gives an idea .... http://www.vintagebike.co.uk/Sounds/...Honda%2050.mp3 though as it's mostly coming down the box for a corner and not a lot of the accelreation away ... yes it DOES sound a little stuttery. MY memory is of the sweetness UP the box

If you google for ducati slipper clutch you'll hear one of the most horrible sounds at a race circuit
Now THAT is rattly, most of the time at IoM you're convinced it's broken

EDIT: ACtually for some historically great bike sounds ... http://www.vintagebike.co.uk/Sounds.htm is quite good Also the honda.jp museum has all their race bikes too

repoetedly 28,000 "limited" to 25,000 and now they don't let the factory race bikes from he Honda museum rev beyond 22,000 .... but at 22K it is SCREAMING, we were lucky and they brought them over to IoM in 2005.

HUGE BHP/cc but it came at the price of having a VERY narrow power band, but being HONDA that wans't an issue, they just designed extremely compact and light gearboxes. Have heard the Honda 10 speed accelerate away changing up the box and then back down under braking for corner -- SURREAL to hear so many changes
Honda were decades ahead of some of the ideas that it took even F1 engineers time to come around to realise the benefits.
Most of "innovation" in the last 20 years in car engines had been seen already in bikes, sometimes DECADES before !!!
Even injection - though VERY short lived on first attempts due to the vibrations !!!
    That. Is. Awesome.

You just made me respect Mr. Soichiro Honda that much more.

If you can drive a manual car and ride a pushbike, you can ride a motorbike. Or hell.. start with a scooter. Just twist and go.

Well I have to say NO to that
You may well be able to make it go from poitn A to B in a straight line.
But IN TRAFFIC ? On roads with bends and changing surfaces ??

You get to speeds on a bike that are very dangerous VERY quickly -- and I'm still talking sub-30mph !!!

Learning to ride a motorbike though IS not about the mechanics of it, it's MUCH more about the mindset and the mindset of others who may do you harm unintentionally ... the famous "didn't see you mate" response to most accidents when cars hit bikes.

Well yea, ok, if you can X and Y you can operate a motorbike. But just as operating a car is only a tiny part of driving, operating the bike is a tiny part of riding. That's the good part of getting the license here, you have to do a two day course where they drill in all the defensive riding stuff. Still doesn't get through to some people, but the huge reduction in learner rider death toll since its introduction shows how effective it is.

They don't look bad at all even if the car has another color.
I wouldn't say the new XJ is a beautiful car, but it's definitely got presence and style.
    want.
