As far as I know, it's really going to be called R36. So it's going to be a useless Golf on top of the GTI/R32... and as Ferrer already mentioned: it will get the same engine as the Passat R36...

Don't worry we've got the Seat Leon Cupra which is basically a front wheel drive Audi S3 for 26.600€ only...I drove both of them and the R32 Golf, I think the Subaru is way more fun to drive and the Mitsu is also better, if you don't look to close to the interior build quality (which can be rubbish in a VW also, when I look at the 1,9 TDI Golf of my neighbor...)

It's missing a pedal, and while the actual shifts are quick and smooth, there is a delay between hitting the paddle and the actual gear change. That, and it switches out of paddle mode and back into the regular auto mode too quickly.
