    Volkswagen Golf Tribute

My dad just ordered his new car, a Volkswagen Golf V GT-TDi . It goes like a rocket!! Its the diesel version of the Golf Gti,due for release early next year, so it has the suspension kit, sports seats, the lot. I love it So i thought i would make a tribute to the history of the golf, because over the years, its been the most successfull hatchback in europe and has influenced all manufacturers to make cars such as the astra, focus etc.

    Spec:

    BHP: 140
    Engine cubic capacity: 2000
    Fuel Consumption:
    Urban 39.8mpg - 7.4l/100km
    Extra-urban 58.9mpg - 4.8l/100km
    Combined 49.6mpg - 5.7l/100km
    Engine emissions: 154g/km
    Engine noise levels: 72.0dB
    Engine maximum Speed: 126mph - 203km/h
    Engine acceleration: 0-62mph 9.3secs
    Maximum output: BHP 140
    at RPM 4000
    Maximum torque 236 lbs.ft / 320 Nm
    at RPM 1750
    Insurance group rating 13

    In laser blue:

It’s true. The new Golf does look vaguely familiar.

When they were designing the new Golf, they knew exactly where to start. The answer, of course, was at the very beginning.

So they went back to 1974 and looked at the very first Golf they made. They were so inspired that they then looked at every Golf they’ve made since. Thirty years of continuous improvement is a lot to live up to, but with the new Golf they seem to have managed it. With a five star rating for safety from the Euro NCAP, you can rely on the Golf to keep you safe.

However, even after all this time, it’s reassuring to see one thing’s barely changed at all.

Despite its new curvy lines, the new Golf is still clearly a Golf.

I'll post pics of the Golf V but you guys can post any pics of the Golf that you have, from over the years. Cheers, Rik

    Thumbs down

the styling of the new golf resembles the focus too much, and I think it kills the great styling streak of the golf. last year's R32 looks about 90312470127 times better.

my thumb's down on the new golf.

ok i respect your views on that but this is a tribute to the golf, not just the golf V, so if you like the r32 post some pics

I don't like the VW Golf, maybe it's because every third car on our streets is a Volkswagen.......

and the car in the first pics is a Golf V, there is no Golf VI yet.

also it's not a Golf III but II @spastik_roach

    last pics is Golf IV

I love Volkswagen, specially now the we have had a Passat that is just wonderful since new to now not a single thing has gone wrong with is and still looks like new the car now has high mileage and it does take a pounding every now and then.. our next car will be another Volkswagen 100%..
