In that case, you can start removing your old posts to get below 500 again

ill take whoever has the best engine sound and interior
I'm dropping out to create a company that starts with motorcycles, then cars, and forty years later signs a legendary Brazilian driver who has a public and expensive feud with his French teammate.

Strange... all the articles i read (EVO, SportAuto, Auto-Motor, Sport) said exactly the opposit. So does Clarkson...
They say the AWD Gallardo is much easier to handle. The RWD F430 tends to understeer.
How come you experienced such big differences?

0-60 times are governed by a host of variables, so 0.1 second could be lost by reaction times alone.
almost all testers in the states go by drag race rules in that the clock doesnt start until the car has moved 1ft which usually takes about .2-.3 sec so reaction times would not apply

wouldnt an awd car understeer more than a rwd car? i thought the f430 had very neutral handling for the most part

There's no way the F430 understeers - if anything it's still a little too twitchy at the rear. Having said that, the F430 is much easier to get in and out of, has a very reasonably sized boot, has comfier seats and sounds better.

The Gallardo does understeer, although when I experienced that I was in the passenger seat.

So that takes care of the error due to reaction times.

Now how do you account for:
    Different air temperature
    Different "track" temperature
How much or little the engine & transmission is warmed through
    Tyre Temperature
    Tyre wear
    Altitude

    And so on.

The list of variables is vast, and they all add up to a significant error, especially when you are comparing two cars with differences in 0-60 times of 0.1 or 0.2 seconds, so why bother?

It is a rough guide, not definative "proof" that one car beats another.
    Thanks for all the fish

Aside from anything else, 0-62 is useless in the real world! Who's going to hold 4,000rpm, sidestep the clutch and crash 1st and 2nd on a regular basis?!

I reckon 50-80 (or 70) should become the new standard.
