    for me the Ferrari F40 is the greatest supercar...why? because it has no creature comforts...it focuses on performance...and i love it when you back off the accelerator and fire comes out...HEHEHE!!!

    i don't care....i just love the F40...you want to know why?look up youtube and find jeremy clarkson reviewing the F40 and many other supercars...

    Yea, pretty much. It's a product of incomplete combustion, which means you're not burning the air/fuel mix efficiently. Efficiency = power.

    Yeah. Which is why chipped 1.8t's suck.. they're inefficient.

    F'd I cars have heaps of extra fuel under boost and when off throttle boost is dumped but fuel can still be supplied for a short time, hence the flame.

    You cant get perfect tuning anyway, considering your cams, ignition timing etc can only be optimised to a particular rev range.

    Cars that dump fuel like that do it off throttle, so there not exactly losing power. And F1 cars shoot flame under full throttle and they're not exactly ineffeicient. I also thought it was a by-product of high RON fuel not combusting in the cylinders.

    I always thought it had alot to do with large amounts of valve overlap
