    Auto-Stocks: Predicting the Future.

Ok guys, i was thinking about buying some stockin in an auto company (dont ask how) and i was wondering what you guys think would be a good investment. Obviously UCP has a pretty firm grip on knowing whats coming out in the next year or two in the auto world. i was just reading an artical in Cnn/Money ( http://money.cnn.com/2005/01/09/mark...t_tm/index.htm ) about how toyota had a big gain in teh past year, DC has grown a little bit, and GM has lost money. (look at the graph midway thru the artical to see a trend graph which sugests toyota as a good investment.). Well this all is a little disapointing to me because the last thing i want to do is invest in one of the two companies that put like a million americans on the unemployment line.

All opinions are welcome as usual, please dont be afraid to pitch in your two cents...

Toyota is expected to overtake Chrysler as the #3 seller of cars in the US this year. It is also expected to overtake Ford in a few years as #2. I would say that you are correct - Toyota would be a fine investment.

smart enters the US this year. If you think they'll be successful (I personally haven't formed an opinion on it), then you could possibly jump on some DCX stock.

and their shares dropped the most EVER last year too

Dont' play shares unless you have moeny to lose, it's a risky business.
Single indicators are VERY dangerous to use on predicting future share values of a company,

    Do PLENTY of research
Otherwise it's the equivalent of walking into a casino and putting your money on "13" on a roulette wheel !!
WITHOUT the chance of a 35:1 win
