I saw this a few weeks ago on ebaums, horrible fate for a 993 Gt2
He came dancing across the water
    With his galleons and guns
    Looking for the new world
In that palace in the sun
    On the shore lay Montezuma
With his cocoa leaves and pearls

It was deleted intially because it appeared to show the Ferrari drivers demise. Conventry has said he survived although I cant see how (Ill take your word for it though) however as Wouter stated originally this site is open to children who want to see and read about cars and they need not see this (here anyway). Besides everyone I know has had it emailed to them by now anyway.

Ferrari 355 hits stationary 911, huge fire ball.

The driver of the 1st 911 had a broken leg, and the Ferrari driver recieved some serious burns, but survived.

He then went on to sue the race organisers for taking longer than the 30s it should have taken to get him out of the flaming wreckage, and he had to give up racing because of his injuries.

I think the problem was that the 911's fuel tank, which is in the front IIRC, was hit twice. It was probably weakened or ruptured after the first crash, and the second impact caused it to ignite.
This is a quote from the original post for those that missed the vid/link. It'd be nice if the mod removing the link would atleast describe what the link was about. So, latecomers can discuss the issue without the gore

Amazing isn't it. There is a second video which shows the 'Rarri driver being pulled from the wreckage. He seems unconcious at first, but then starts moving about, he even tries to stand up.

I guess it'll take a few days to get used to my new "super-powers"

"In spite of bad weather, 47,500 race fans (organizer announcement) braved the rain for the second round of the 1998 All-Japan Grand Touring Car Championship at Fuji Speedway.

Just as the Pace Car entered its second lap at the start of the 67-lap race, the No.71 and No.910 PORSCHEs crashed on the main straight near the pit lane exit, causing a major accident on the track. The No.27 FERRARI burst into flames, and the red flag was shown to stop the race. After removing the stopped cars from the tracked, the remainder of the field returned to the starting grid for a shortened race of 51 laps. But as the starting procedure carried on, a dense fog bank rolled in over the circuit. The organizer waited for some time for the weather to turn good, but the fog had settled in with no appearance of clearing off. At 17:00, the organizer officially announced the cancellation of the race.

Tetsuya Ohta, the FERRARI driver, was burned heavily and moved to the hospital in Gotemba City. Tomohiko Sunako, driver of the No.910 PORSCHE, fractured his right leg."
    Thanks for all the fish
