Yeah, but only the Merak engine with way too less power for this car.
The other problem were the Citroen parts......
But immensely cooler than a Merak.Originally Posted by Guara0007

Maybe, but the Merak was the much better drivers car.
I agree but I'd still have the Citroen over a Merak. Sometimes outright performance just isn't enough.Originally Posted by Guara0007

When I was a teenager around 1974 the mechanic who kept my BMW 2002 running had a SM . I think it had a major breakdown and he bought it cheep from a tourist passing through town. (Carlsbad New Mexico, home of the one of the natural wonders of the world, the Carlsbad Caverns and also the "Carlsbad Cavemen" high school teams) . I remember asking him why he was spending so much time and money to get it back on the road, he lifted the hood and showed me the engine and said " this is a Maserati engine" He started it up to let me hear it run. I said " that's cool but I'll bet a Corvette would blow its doors off" or something like that. He slammed the hood and told me to pay my bill and get my "Bavarian Washing Machine" out of his shop!!!!
I guess a real Sado Masocust enjoys spending money and busting knuckles on the car
I think a SM replacer could be made by chopping and channeling a 1988 Taurus wagon and it would look just as strange and be much cheaper to maintain. Compare the profiles or the two cars before you dismiss the idea.
. Don't get me wrong, I really think it is a very sexy shaped car it makes my old 2002 BMW look like an ugly box with tacked on taillights.
welcome to UCP, this is actually the second time a Taurus has beenpout in connection with a Citroen, the first time being when our respected member Prius put the DS 19 in the same innovative league as the Taurus... Anyway, an SM and a Corvette were slightly different automobiles, and I can fully understand why that mechanic was a bit cross with youOriginally Posted by Caverncity4whee
