    Porsche 997 911 GT3 (Cup, R, Hybrid racecars) 2006-2011

Porsche Cars GB has re-affirmed its long-term commitment to British motorsport by unveiling the car that will be used in the Carrera Cup GB for at least the next three years.

The all-new 911 GT3 Cup (Type 997) will be introduced in the 2006 Carrera Cup and continue for 2007 and 2008 in a new three-year programme. The existing model (Type 996) has been used in the Carrera Cup GB since the championship was introduced in 2003.

The new model was officially unveiled at a reception at Porsche Cars Reading on the evening of Saturday 30 April.

Since it first supported the British Touring Car Championship in 2003, the Porsche Carrera Cup GB has become firmly established as the fastest single marque racing series on the UK’s premier national motorsport calendar. The combination of evocative sports coupe styling and characteristic rear-engine design makes the Porsche 911 a favourite for drivers seeking a precisely engineered, powerful race car, and one that is immediately recognisable by spectators and sponsors alike.

The next evolution of the Carrera Cup GB will build on this proven reputation and continue to offer competitors the same high level of support from Porsche Cars GB. An extensive prize fund, excellent technical support, race centre hospitality, championship management, TV coverage and media services will all continue to underpin the Porsche Carrera Cup GB.

The more I see the 997 on the streets the more I like it, and this particular one looks gorgeous. Love every aspect of it.

    Nice
Sorry if I cannot express myself correctly, but I don't know English as good as I want, so my answers will probably be the same in many cases.

wow this looks really great, The basic body kits and stuff looks a bit like the 997 turbo shown on another thread. but I might be mistaken because I didn't have a good look at the thing.

This question doesn't really suit this thread but here goes. You guys know about the 9ff right, the porsche that set the speed record or something. I dunno about the speed record but they got it rocketing. Is that ever going to come out as a production car for porsche? Maybe as like a super 911 or something? Or was it just for the speed record stuff? I love what they did with the rear spoiler how it sorta drops out the back.

The 9ff-400 is a "production" car.

It isn't Porsche-built though. It is a car built by 9ff, an independant tuning company. Porsche have nothing to do with it.
    Thanks for all the fish

maybe the exhausts are straight through ones, no cats etc?

they would n't need to be that big then as there is nothing to block the flow
