Like I mentioned in the other competition thread, I apologize. My internet has been out for a couple days now and I've had no access until now. Big ups to my homie triple-a mod for throwing up this week's voting threads.

What macro lens/attachment did you use? I've been looking for something for my 350D. That shot has some nice clarity and DOF.

Its just a cheapie screw on wide angle conversion lens with a macro attatchment. You can get one off of eBay for maybe fifty bucks. The wide angle part screws off and the close up only macro attatchment stays on. It came bundled with my camera, and I've been quite happy with it. Although I find that the wide angle part is very prone to flare...or is it glare...I don't know. Its just low quality glass.

    great shot.......

one quick, but respectful criticism; consider the "Rule of Thirds" when composing your shots.

    paraphrased from another source:
    The Rule of Thirds.
One of the most popular 'rules' in photography is the Rule Of Thirds. It is also popular amongst artists. It works like this:
Imaginary lines are drawn dividing the image into thirds both horizontally and vertically. You place important elements of your composition where these lines intersect.

As well as using the intersections you can arrange areas into bands occupying a third or place things along the imaginary lines. Good places to put things; third of the way up, third of the way in from the left , you get the idea. Duff places to put things; right in the middle, right at the top, right at the bottom, away in the corner.

Using the Rule of Thirds helps produce nicely balanced easy on the eye pictures. Also, as you have to position things relative to the edges of the frame it helps get rid of 'tiny subject surrounded by vast empty space' syndrome.

So, based on that suggested rule, I believe your shot would have been more impressive if the car appeared along the bottom 1/3 line. If it's difficult to compose a shot that way while taking the shot, then crop it after. There's no rule against cropping in this contest.

Just my $0.02 (CDN, cuz it's worth a lot these days)
