Will be trying to keep free to go see Ae. An awesome forest stage, done it often many MANY years ago
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GE3qyZwOjhE

Shame so many stages and passage controls are now being labelled non-spectator. Bloody fiery latins/french ruined it for everyone

PS: First event ? Going with anyone experienced ? If not, talk to the marshals about where to stand to take pics !!!! AND listen to them and avoid walking on the stage as often in the forest you don't hear the cars coming

PPS: Behind BIG trees is good and switch flash off

I'm sorry, but IIRC the last time some spectators were actually hit by a car in rally of the World Championship was in the GB Rally in 2001.
Lack of charisma can be fatal.

    They were visitors !!

no really ......... the dig was in humour sorry

An occasional accident is inevitable, but the image of the Corsica et al rallies with the parting of the crowds sticks in everyones mind and they get over-protective about control so NOBODY gets to go into some stages now
"risk analysis" is the worst thing for any event !!!

Might only make it for the 2 Heathall Stages.
Going with a family friend - been to may rallies himself. Got a work Colleague (Stuart Cant) who is Co-Driving for a guy in an Impreza... Should be fun.

Will keep the big trees in mind. Cheers

Corsica? I'd consider Portugal and San Remo crowds to be a lot more insane...

    So did you go Peter??

Kepy an eye out for you at Scruitineering but never saw you.

We sneaked up to Greskine, got some good pictures. NOT happy with Heathall stage, VERY poor spectator areas!!!

Anyway for you lot, here's a few pictures. I was happy with them, first proper time out with the 400D.

    Thanks Brian

Some of the shots were very hard to get.. sometimes you wish you had a wide angle lens, other times, a long zoom! Nightmare!
