Today, the 2019 Geneva Motor Show kicked off with the first of a pair of media days. We have kept our eye out for the first highlights to which we have taken a closer look here.
The most powerful production car launched is the spectacular 1,877bhp Automobili Pininfarina Battista. All this power comes from the Rimac developed, all-electric drivetrain that features four electric motors. This is combined with an strikingly beautiful body that is naturally designed by Pininfarina themselves. The Battista is achingly expensive and production is limited to just 150 examples.
Further high performance machines launched were the Roadster versions of the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ and the Mercedes-AMG GT R.
Aston Martin, meanwhile, previewed a pair of mid-engined supercars in the form of the upcoming AM-RB 003 and the subsequent Vanquish Vision Concept. Both will be powered by a new V6 engine that has been developed in-house by Aston Martin.
Another major launch is Morgan's Plus Six Roadster that will replace the legendary Plus 8. As before, the engine is supplied by BMW but this time, it is a turbocharged straight six that produces 335bhp. A version of that same engine, is fitted in the Toyota GR Supra GT4 Concept that was also released in Geneva as well.
Not shown at Geneva but mentioned in the company's press conference was the upcoming McLaren Grand Tourer. The model name and further details will follow in the coming months.
