Maybe it's "Ready, Steady..."

Or maybe "Red = Stop"...

Seriously though, I'd bet on "Racing Sport", loosely translated to German, Italian and whoever else uses it.

The main reason I think it's used is because it simply sounds so good. "RS", "RSR", yummy!

RS stands for Rennen Sport. Which means Super Racing in German.

I knew that, but I am looking for the first ever use. This was the oldest I could think of. Veritas also had an RS.
