lol... he must've made a mistake there...

i was just wondering... do the teams who get a place on the podium get a price or somekind? i was thinking they get money... if they do, just about how much money do they get? is all the price money provided by Bernie?

I think there must be some sort of prize money, the fight between BAR and Renault wouldnt JUST be about the final placing next year surely

AFAIK there is no "prize" money as such.

I'm sure drivers from the smaller teams probably get a "bonus" if they do well, but most drivers are paid in relation to their abilities.

The teams want to finish as high up in the championship as possible so that they get more media coverage, and therefore can get more money from sponsors/ attract new, bigger sponsors.

They do get to keep the trophy though.
    Thanks for all the fish

    Larrousse (folded 1995)
    Lotus (folded 1995)
Ligier (became Prost 1997, then folded 2002)
    Simtek (folded mid 1994)
Tyrrell (sort of became BAR 1997)
    Pacific (folded 1995)

And lets not forget Lola's pathetic attepmt at F1 in 1997.

Since 1995 there have been no more than 22 cars on the grid.
Too bad, wonder who will buy the team, if anyone. And if not I wonder what two teams will get the extra driver.

You'd think if a buyer cant be found, Ferrari would for sure be one of the 2 teams stuck running a 3rd car

Toyota maybe? They have the money and they sure could use a third driver in there to gain more points. It would seem a little weighted for Ferrari to have a third car, as this would give them a HUGE advantage in the Constructors chase next year. I don't know, we'll just have to wait and see how things play out.

it would have huge ramifications on the constructors championship, so perhaps the FIA could work something out for that. i dont know about toyota, theyre said to have a similar budget to Ferrari, but they arent showing the performances. so the decision will more than likely be based on the top 2 teams or something, unless 2 teams put there hand up for the extra cars
