I selected the 250 GTO, but only because it's closest to my top picks: 250 GT Cabriolet Series I, 250 California Spyder LWB and 250 SWB Berlinetta.

Plus I noticed there weren't any pre-war cars on that list. In that case most of the Alfa-Romeo 2.9s and some of the Bugatti Type 57s would be on my list. And for the Americans car lovers any Duesenberg with a Murphy body.

Out of those, I picked the Miura and the Esprit.

Although if the 250 line had been represented by a 250 GT Pininfarina 2+2 I'd have selected that one in a heartbeat.

Out of those I picked the DB7, Miura, 250 GTO (although I think the GT SWB is even prettier) and the Carrera GT

What's "Austin Martin"? I never heard of this company? I've heard of Aston Martin and Austin Healey before.

Sorry but you've just struck one of my pet peeves.

An Austin Martin is when someone called Martin owns a beige Austin Princess.

    Probably.

There's a '37 Cadillac V-16 roadster that is (was?) at the Blackhawk Auto Museum in Danville, CA. It was built for a Swiss gentryman and playboy and bodied by a local coachbuilder who was inspired by Figoni + Falaschi's amazing, flowing designs. I'd seen this car in pictures before, but when I actually saw the car in person, it was beyond words. This thing has an awesome presence - I was nearly reduced to tears when I saw the car. Here's a before and current photo, the latter of which was taken at the Blackhawk Auto Museum, exactly as I saw the car. I also included a link to the history of her.

I would not call it the most beautiful car in the world but the history around it, is amazing, especially the efforts to increase the value of the car...

witty irony as always as to cadillac it surely looks great, but any delahaye, bugatti or hispano suiza of this era can compete with it. so not the best ever.
