burnt out classic racer, test mule, or pristine example?

Which would you choose if you were looking to buy? I'd choose a burnt out racer anyday no matter the condition.

Test mule as in tire tester, engine mod tester, aerodynamic tester.

    Depends on the fire
I've seen some pretty much useless parts left after a fire at track.
Replacing unique casting can be expensive and sometimes impossible and require one-off castings to be develoepd which are then unproven adn VERY expensive.

See how relatively cheaply you can pick up a 70s March single-seater. THEN ask how much for a replacement hub

Or try to get an original Lotus Twin Cam engine.
Or craziest one ? An A-series block for a Mini Cooper ? £10 for an A+, £500-750 for an A
