...Beyond the traditional "LOL MK 4" stuff, it's actually rather nifty. and it's 1.8t yo.
2002 Model, 82,000km, I'm the third owner. pretty well perfect.

Would like to hear a review. As you may know, I very frequently drive my parent's MkIV.
Having picked it up on Wednesday I can do a quick Fiset Review...
Is it practical?
Reasonably. It's designed as a family hatchback and as such it coped well 5 up. It handled a large amount of overnight bags and assorted accoutremont. Further the glove compartment is large and spacious, and the door pockets are good too. No centre console bin, though.
Is it economical?
Running 95 Octane and with a roughly 55 (?) litre tank, I get anywhere between 7.5-10L/100km. for a 1.8t that I caned, it's doing very well.
Is it fun to drive?
Yes and no. It's certainly very thrummy, with an excellent note to the engine and slight turbo whistle. The steering is direct and accurate without being too communicative, and the handling itself is neutral with a bias towards understeer when pushed. Having said that in my experience the ride can be considered quite...terse, with a large amount of vertical bounce experienced on imperfections.
Will it break down all the time?
I sure as hell hope not. Having said that the two previous owners were fastidious and the VW specialist is two streets away roughly, so I think i'll be ok.
Is it easy to park?
Yes. Reasonably tight turning circle and the only real concern is a large blind spot where the D-Pillar is.
What if I go to a Shopping Centre and get chased by baddies in a Corvette?
You might understeer into a fountain, but you'll be able to park it in the carpark, switch off the lights and it'll blend in because, despite being a GTi, it looks exactly like every other bloody MK IV.
Is it green?
It's...uh, silver. There's green lighting on the Alpine stereo!
Can I afford it?
Good ones are tumbling down to $12-15k. This was a later spec model and was bought for $13.5k. So yes.For that price the new market involves a Nissan Micra, Proton S16 or a Holden Barina Spark. Shudder.
What If I'm asked to take part in a beach assault with the Royal Marines?
It's unlikely, They'll probably be trying to blow it up.

Nice, have fun nevar losing!
Life's too short to drive bad cars.
LOL MK 4
I allow you to say LOL AUDI now.
By the way, I drove this summer the diesel version of your car. Uninteresting handling, good speed, amazing build quality.
Lack of charisma can be fatal.
Visca Catalunya!
This particular model is built in South Africa for the southern hemisphere market, and I agree for the most part. there are a few niggly things (the soft-touch coating on the rear ashtray is becoming patchy) but overall, very nice.

Congratulations!
Now, make like Quiggs, LOWER IT, and let the hardparking commence.
"Kimi, can you improve on your [race] finish?"
"No. My Finnish is fine; I am from Finland. Do you have any water?"

Well, at least you shouldn't have any problems with the reliability. From what I hear, MK4's were tough built.
Oh, and following a great MK4 tradition, you need BBS rims. There is no chance to avoid that.
