    I've always wondered how to properly pronounce the Spanish carmaker SEAT. It's not pronounced like the English word seat, is it?

    [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SEAT"]SEAT - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[/ame]

    The intro sentence has the IPA pronunciation for English and Spanish. If the Spanish version is correct, and the [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:IPA_for_Spanish"]IPA guide[/ame] for Spanish is correct (and their English analogues are correct), then you say the s like the s in sack, the e like the e in bed, the a like the second a in Barack, and the t like the t in stand.

    Or SAY-at in the English way.

    It's like the way some people say pecan, it's either peecan, or pecohn. I guess it depends on what side of the country you live in.

    Or almonds...to most it's ALL-mund. Until you enter the area around Chico, CA, where many almonds are grown. There, it's AMM-und

    Because you're doing it wrong. The Korean way is Hyun-dai, the accept Anglo-cised way is Hai-un-dai.
