The ACR is a beast, surprising how much time it made up. What I don't understand is why they used the Spyder to compare against the SuperLeggera, instead of the coupe.

The ZR1 might be able to take it in the 1/4 but it's not as much of a track orineted car as the viper ACR. I predict the Viper ACR will take it on the track.

Lightweight rims and Michelin cut-slicks on the ACR = win.

LOL I'm not much of a gambler. Maybe if I was driving the ACR and you where driving the ZR1 I might be more inclined. Or if I knew what track and what kind of driver was testing it. It's going to be hard for the ZR1 to compete with the ACR's sticky tires and downforce capabilities. But anything is possible we shall see.

The SRT-10 ACR is the nicest Viper since the GT2 I'd say, but I would still take a ZR1, it goes to more extremes

The ACR is basically a track car I don't know what could be more of an extreme to go to. Certainly not the ZR1's compromise to street driving.

Agreed. Plus I'm more of a fan of the underdog so I would be rooting for the Viper all the way.

The Viper has Aerodynamic devices and road/race tyres. The Corvette has only extensive media coverage.

Wait wait wait, the ZR1, which GM expects to run nurburgring in 7:30 - 7:20s isn't much of a track car?

It isn't that the ZR1 is not fast, it's just that the viper is more track oriented. Tires are very important (nod to viper,) and the carbon ceramic brakes are a nice touch (nod to 'vette,) but down force is huge; the viper produces 1,000lbs of downforce while the corvette actually produces lift.

1200lb of downforce at 150mph is substantial for a road car(well, road going capable, track oriented...), ZR-1 will have a tough time matching that.....
