    Air-intake questions

Have a look at the pic below. Yes it is a 250 GTO engine but where are the air-cleaners ? And are the carbs mounted below the air intake trumpets? Can i make such a modification to a 3-cyl. engine i have?

What are you trying to achiev with you "modification"? It looks stunning.. I know.. On older cars/racing cars the air cleaners are often dropped. It`s a bit of a risk though, if a small stone find the way in one of the trumpets the engien is destroyed. So many use smal nets to prevent it.
What kind of engien is it?(Marque)
Here you can se some cars with free trumpets with and without nets

I thought I posted to this before, but I guess it didn't go through. I had them on my race car, but decided to run normal K&N filters on them. Not much of a difference and the filters are much safer. Also the benefits from the trumpet design is totally lost if you have a screen over it.

I is most probably a Yamaha/ or similar motorcycle engine.
I cannot give engine no. as that plate is corroded.

I am basically going for the stunning look and great sound part.

I don`t know if it would work mate.. maybe you could put some nice shiny trumpets on the original carbs. but in the most pictures abow (not the F1 cars) you see twin webers. they work in pairs.. can`t cut one in half.. and they either have to be side draft (horizontal mounted) or down draft as seen on the 250 gto..
I think But I have seen single carbs simmilar in working method as this mounted on harleys.. but I don`t have any good info source on it... sorry
