I'll have to make the trip down from Sydney sometime - but not this year unfortunately. The Grand Prix and Clipsal are too close together for me to consider going to both - and the Grand Prix is where I have chosen to spend the money most years.
Looking forward to watching the Clipsal on TV though.

    --------------------------------------------

Pretty interesting result overall; Skaife still plaqued with bad luck, some bad strategy decisions with the Kelly brothers, SBR taking a gamble on fuel and having it pay off, Lowndes rebounding nicely and Ellery starting from 3rd of all places.

But when the last 3 of 6 SBR-engined cars left on the lead lap take 1-2-3, you know youve got an interesting weekend and season ahead.

last year he wouldve finished the race though, it was jut a small issue that he had to start the race without testing the car since it was fixed after his crash yesterday, now that theyve gotten rid of the warm up

I didn't know there was a race this weekend
4 fords and my brother said nothing??? Must have no credits

Skaife broke the lap record If only he could finnish the second race he might be able to use some speed to get in the mix.

Another interesting race, Ambrose just cruising around and still lapping about half a second quicker than Richards, who was named as one of the 4 fastest cars on track following the first race. It wouldve been interesting to see Todd Kelly run a green race, although at least one of those drive through's was his fault alone so i guess it wasnt to be.

EDIT: Points already worked out as well on my new system which is in the Aussie cars section

That's a pete brock trick set the fastest lap on the last lap just to prove the car has got plenty in it still

I still like the look of HRT this year both cars in the mix as in the past it was 1 at best no skaife.
Marcus looks good as always and craig has got some better wheels under him this year it show's. Better donk also

There were five drivers who were on it all weekend - Ambrose, Skaife, Lowndes, Ingall and Kelly. The last two were blighted by bad luck. This years V8 Supercar champion should be one of these five.
You can't overlook Ambrose's all round performance, but Skaife and Lowndes were particularly impressive coming through from the rear of the field. And Lowndes pulled a very clean pass on Skaife.
A sixth driver impressed in qualifying - Paul Radisich. Team Kiwi seems to have a very fast car. Not sure why Radisich and Lowndes couldn't go around a corner side by side in the first race. Looked like Radisich left Lowndes enough room, but somehow Lowndes ran out of room and the Team Kiwi car hit the wall lightly. Radisich finished 10th in the second race, so there is some speed in that car.
