you have seen a very famous car.On the pics its shown that it has been driven by Ben Pon(son of the dutch VW importer) and Carel de beaufort.They were very succesful back then and became very famous

I'm sorry but that's half an ape sandwich story. Ben Pon drew his ideas about a van on the Beetle chassis on a bit of paper while having lunch or dinner with a few VW directors. He didn't build a prototype, let alone in his garage. VW thought it was an interesting idea and about a year later the first prototype was finished. The rest is history.
