Yes, my parents each make more than that per year, no they don't deserve to pay more taxes, they aren't greedy, they give to charities, they aren't workaholics who never see their kids because they are so money obsessed, they are actually here for me and my little brother whenever we need them, and work about 9am-6pm, they could work more and make far more, but like I said they aren't greedy. Obviously there are some who ARE greedy, but they give a bad name to the others, just as poor people who milk welfare give a bad name to the poor people who actually try to better their lives.
In my view, nobody does a job that really deserves more than that after a year - they are just not that important to society. I'd be pleased if everyone earned somewhere inbetween 50k-250k - obviously this is a filthy socialist fantasy but I can dream. I just think some of the wealth of the ultra rich top 1% should be redistributed automatically by the government to the bottom 10%-25% via taxation and other means.

Changing the subject a little to corporate income tax. Under Bush's tyranny, my families small corporation pays a higher percent than Exxon Mobile. 37 vs 31%

    .02,
I'll be voting for Obama mainly for one reason. I he will end the current war and try much harder to avoid the next, and Mccain.....

You do have significantly more to give than someone making 150K per year is the argument.

Huh...I always thought he held dual citizenship. Must have been someone else. Damn me and how I get everyone confused. I actually got Rockefella and Vaigra mixed up during the early days.

This "follow us or stfu" attitude some of my fellow Americans have is a bit eery/shocking to me.

Dude, taxing businesses is absolutely pointless. Why? Because businesses DONT PAY TAXES, they just pass the price on to the customer

And some of the other posters about taxing the wealthy more, that is 100% a socialistic ideal

    Lul.

There's a reason why I never argue politics. Everyone thinks they're right, no one admits to being wrong about their opinion/belief, and most importantly, the other person is always an idiot for following the opposing party.

I agree, but in this case the problem was the attitude, not the party. at least, from my point of view.

Same, I have my beliefs, but whatever they are, they will be critized. To me, the more you think you know, the more you think your knowledge is infalable, and the best idea/answer there is. Your not going to change anyones mind through half assed arguement, so why try?

It's not whether a half assed argument could change our minds or not, but seeing how this is an open forum, any uneducated follower/sheep could stumble across that argument and take it for fact. I've seen it happen so many times. People stopped thinking a while ago, many now just regurgitate what they've heard/read. Go to a modern day history class. Other than 2 history teachers that have always taught critical thinking and how to pick out bias, most of my teachers have handed me the books and expected me to learn them like everything written in them was fact.

Why is socialism such a bad idea? Socialism works if done correctly.

So you ARE U.S citizen yet my English & grammar is far better than yours? LMAO.

I'm a U.S. Resident, I live, work, and pay taxes in this country, hence I CARE WHO GETS ELECTED. I'll be a citizen by the end of next year (I'm sure you know how the process works since you probably went through it as well, and I'm sure that you gave your opinion even before becoming a citizen) Seriously man, you are one ignorant little prick.

MP, the second I saw you browsing this thread I knew you would throw a comment about how much mommy and daddy make. It's getting old already, come back when YOU make that money on your own.

Without commenting on his politics, intelligence, viewpoints, etc, it should be noted that English isn't his first, or even (IIRC) his second language.
He lives and works in the U.S and he is even a citizen, isn't there a test before getting your passport to make sure that you can actually speak English? lol.....

The fact remains though that it effects me personally...my parents don't deserve to pay higher taxes than they already do, and before that I hadn't made any posts like that in several years.

I guess there isn't a test, I thought there was.

Everyone knows you're well to do, so your thoughts on the matter may be skewed a little bit... Your parents are paying the taxes anyway, so why should you care? Did you have to pay for your truck at all?

And by no means am I ripping on you, I'm just saying
