Bonhams Amelia Island results and Members' Meeting sale preview ...

The action at Amelia Island kicked off last week with the Bonhams Auction on Thursday. Of the 104 cars consigned 84% sold for a combined total of just over $13.5 million. We have now published the full results, illustrated by a 120-shot gallery.
On the other side of the Atlantic, Bonhams's motoring department will host another sale on Saturday as part of the Goodwood Members' Meeting. Among the cars consigned to the official Members' Meeting sale is the Lamborghini 400 GT 2+2 ordered new by none other than Paul McCartney of Beatles fame. Never restored, it has survived in remarkably original condition. Also boasting famous provenance is this altogether more affordable Aston Martin DB7 Volante, which was owned and used during the first year of its life by HRH Prince Andrew, the Duke of York. One of the more unusual cars consigned and one we have seen in action at Goodwood several times is this Attila Mk3. It is one of a handful of small-block V8 engined sports racer designed and built by the talented Val Dare-Bryan during the mid-1960s. With a pre-sale estimate of GBP 125,000, it offers an affordable way into, for example, one of the Goodwood Revival's most prestigious classes.
