    Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Speedster

The news have appeared stating that after about a month Mercedes-Benz will present the new, and the last, version of its SLR. The car, called SLR Speedster, is being tested now. Without any roof and windscreen the car will be 200kg lighter than the basic SLR. Only 75 of them will be built, and the Speedster will become the most expensive SLR. Promised 0-100kmh is about 3,5 seconds, while the maximum speed will be 350kmh.
It can also become the last thing to be developed by MB and McLaren together.

So you drive it in a crash helmet, or the wind will blow your face apart? It IS a track car.

Doubt it, MB doesn't do proper manuals.

probably the most suitable model for the SLR since it was launched, since the most famous one was the one that won MM, which was a speedster # 722...

when you put the same number on a car, it does not automatically mean it gets the same prestige...

The problem the 300 SLR earned it. The SLR McLaren looks like it never will.

yep, it is a marketing trick...nothing to do with real pedigree...

The idea is a tribute car....and that would be a proper tribute car to the original SLR. Like the new Ford GT is to the GT40....
