    Volvo 850R 1996

Oh boy..... I think I missed this section a while.

Lets start where we left off.
My old thread from 2007 actually ended in 2008 with some engine trouble.
And I also needed a car in which I could drive a bit more economical. So I traded it in for a S70 on Liquid Petroleum Gas, which was a horror story.
Which I traded for a Saab 900NG on Liquid Petroleum Gas.
After a year of driving cheap. I needed to get a Volvo again.....

So in 2009 I purchased a REAL Volvo

I bought it with 290.000km, and I drove the first 4 years 25.000km per year.
Off course this one also has LPG. After 4 years, my company moved to the centre of Rotterdam, so I had to go by train.
So my annual mileage dropped to 10.000km.
In 2019 I noticed my headliner stopped sticking to the roof
I got it fixed, man! what a difference.

I also got some winter tires on V70R rims. (first picture)
And still after 12 year of ownership It still brings a smile to my face when I see it standing on my driveway.
At this moment it has 475.000km and still going strong.

Very nice car with an impressive milage, even for a Volvo ... Good to see it is still around and enjoyed as much as 12 years ago.

Thanks. It's "my precious", that's why I'm not able to let it go so easy.

Manny people asked why I'm driving such an old car. And of course it's not cheap in maintenance.
Although it's also not to bad. I usually get around with 1.000 euro per year.
And the times that I didn't get to 1000 in one year I made it up the following year.
(i'm not a technician so I do rely on a shop.)

This Volvo 850R is pretty well documented because I got almost every receipt going back to the first maintenance receipt in 1997.
It will not give the car extra value, but it's nice to see it has been well taken care of.

But since I have kids I can actually use the space the 850 has.
Going on holiday to Germany, Belgium, France and Austria, a Volvo 850R is made for driving long and far and it still cruises without any problems 180km/h on the Autobahn.
I'v done 240km/h as max, but not with my wife and children in the car
But the most satisfying of this car is it acceleration between 80 and 150 then the turbo is really present.
