No, it's not a composite of exposures. Again, look at the reflection in the water. It's a case of burning the sky and poorly masking .

exif viewer. Google search it, they have add-ons for firefox and standalone programs. Also stuff for Mac if that's the way you swing.

Actually, I just right click on the pic in Windows and look at the property summary.

I'm obviously an idiot. If you use opera I just realized that you can right click the image and select 'image properties' also.

Not offended in the slightest bit, I was being serious when I called myself an idiot. Should've realized that there was an easier way.

ah they do actually, the branches are coming out of the water, almost a slight optical illusion but they look right... unless of course you are talking about the clouds in which case i agree with you

I'll give you partial credit, because with a Mac, simply viewing image properties only shows very limited EXIF data.
i was waiting on a moment, but the moment never came. all the billion other moments, were just slipping all away. i must have been tripping, we're just slipping all away. just ego tripping.

I do see it now. Not sure it does anything for me, though.

Sauc3, technically good, but the background is a bit light. Lower aperture next time? Still a bloody good shot though. Where did you position the 580's? Mine rarely come out that good.

John, what a splendid composition you've got. I like how you can just make out the light on her cheek and forehead. (..and perfect amount of sharpening!)

This was a crazy shot. I was actually going back to put my gear away and head into the media center to download. I glanced up across the road into a field of parked cars and this girl was sitting up on top of a van. I quickly threw up the monopod with my 500mm and set her in my sights. But truck and buses kept lining the road in front of me and blocking the shot. Then she started moving around and turning her head... so I had to be patient. Meanwhile, she's a good 700ft away.. and it's 6:30PM and completely dark now. I must of shot 30 or 40 frames and moving a bit to change the composition. Oddly, this was one of the first four or five.

Of course, after 5 or 10 minutes of waiting, I turned around and realized a bit of crowd had gathered trying to figure out what the heck I was shooting at. Here I was standing on the sidewalk point this 30" lens into the darkness and they had no idea. Most assumed I was just shooting the Ferris wheel. A guy finally asked so I showed him one of the review images... people went nuts... since they could barely see the subject from where we stood.

I was happy because I like to find non-race related images like this. And... it's a nice off-beat shot while still representative of the 24 hour race.
