There's a secret method in dealing this in avoiding aquaplane.

    1. Look further, 2. process faster, 3. brake harder before reaching that puddle of water.

I guess judging from this owner's state of wealth and my jealousy on him, it must be STEP 2 that he couldn't cope with. Nothing to do with the tyres.

It's not that easy to see puddles when driving in the rain, Some look big some look innocent and are not. some are waiting past a large bump and bang your in it 1" deep.

My point still remains valid. Big wide tyres are mroe likely to aquaplane. The driver's slower thinking doesn't change that fact.

The LS7 would run out of petrol, just by moving off.

Seriously, Corvette MPG sucks...but the Z06 is actually more economical than the base C6. Now there's an excuse!

Aquaplaning is just like sh*t: it just happens. It happens in a veyron, it might happen in any other car (generally speaking)...

    Mid-range acceleration > you

Don't forget the 160bhp one has recorded a 0-60 dash of 6.5 seconds... get it remapped for 185bhp and 288lb/ft... do the Maths, LS7 < 1.9TDi

V8 muscle car that can do 13l/100km > any diesel you care to mention.

    In fact...

V8 muscle car > any diesel.

And as a petrolhead you can't disagree with me

I have read speculation that the Veyron was not being driven by the owner. It had been leased from a consortium for a fee of £20,000 per day. That's not confirmed as fact, but it was on Skynews.co.uk aswell as other sites, so suggests it may be true. Be interesting to know what the insurance situation is if the guy who hired the car is found guilty of driving without due care and attention. Will he have to foot the bill himself I wonder?

if that is the case and if he was speeding as suggested he will most likely be sued and forced to pay costs
