Honor. Courage. Commitment. Etcetera.
In Europe we will have the Golf GTI and the R20.
States side you should get the GTI and the GTI-R, iirc.
Same cars, respectively.

i will miss the V6, for sure. but i can see why it's being replaced... never understood it's mediocre power figure.

I'd say the M3 E 46 sound better, considering the R32 has also a sportier exhaust than the Alfas.

best sounding V6 on the market imo. I6 or flat 6 is whole different story haha

I'd put the Alfa V6 in top, just because you can find it in regular cars with pretty standard exhaust, while the VW V6 in other cars doesn't sound as good as in the R32. The M engine is a bit of different thing, but it's lovely for sure.
Clutch is right though, the V6 from the R32 is the best sounding in a production car, as both the Alfa and the M engines are now discontinued (well, you can still have the M engine in a Wiesmann).

I agree about the E46 M3. That 3.2L straight six with 340bhp@7900rpm was possibly my favourite sounding six cylinder engine ever put in a road car. All engines sound good in different ways. I4, F4, I5, I6, V6, F6, V8, V10, V12. It's wrong to say one configuration sounds better than another because it's not comparing like with like.
Could agree but...but I still think V8s sound better (generally) .
