Sorry, but this type of request for superlatives is just silly. Besides being subjective, both styling and construction methods play an important part. A better question might be which are the best looking sedans by decade, and in those first few decades, by coachbuilder.

However, Rapide has always been a Lagonda name (even before David Brown took over), so now an Aston Martin Rapide is a bit bullshit. Whatever they recently did to revive the name Lagonda was even worse, but that ghastly project has luckily been suspended.
Completely bullshit. Almost as bullshit as the stupid modern Lagonda or the Aston iQ...

I'd like to nominate as well the Bentley S-Type Continental Flying Spur by the way.

You are right well, but different people have different ideas of beauty, some people drool on the classic car shape, while others go weak at their knees seeing a modern Lambo like profile.
A question like this is fun, and sometimes you can see the wide variety of opinions on offer.

I think that your last sentence does not really tally with the fact that you joined the forum just this week. We are all trying to build up something interesting here, and we are used to deal with suggestions from serious members in a serious manner.

A5 isnt a sedan, its missing doors.

The new rapide is pretty good looking so is the quattroporte,
the old lincoln continental is gorgeous, especially in black, especially in entourage

    Seconded.

Runners up: Jaguar Mk 2 and current Maserati QP.

Bentley Arnage. Not Mulsanne, the Arnage. Then probably the current Aston Rapide.

Hmm...I've narrowed it down to the Citroen Traction Avant, Citroen DS, and the 1st-gen Nissan Skyline GT-R. I could toss in the 2nd gen BMW M3 sedan, though.

edit- at the risk of conformity, the new Aston Martin Rapide.
I'm dropping out to create a company that starts with motorcycles, then cars, and forty years later signs a legendary Brazilian driver who has a public and expensive feud with his French teammate.

Another classic I would consider is the Cadillac Eldorado Brougham. It was Caddy's way of telling the world it is (in the 1950s) the standard of the world. High tech luxury at a very high price. I believe GM lost money on every one.

No, I saw it too. Missed the thread title, I guess.

Speaking of which: Even broken down by decade this is hard to call no matter what your tastes are. Which is why I questioned the nature of the thread... it could be illuminating, or just another opinion list, and we all know what opinions are like. Don't we, debangshu24?
If looking at just one decade there could be dozens of fine examples, and styling radically changes in a space of 10 years.
    As in constantly...

OK, so here's three from just the early 1930s... 1931 Bugatti Royale Berline, 1932 Bucciali TAV8-32 by Saoutchik, 1933 Pierce Silver Arrow. Radically different, all attractive examples of the coachbuilder's art. I love the Bucciali, but the Silver Arrow wins... at least until the Cord Beverly comes along in 1937. See? And we're not even scraping the '30s very deep. Please discuss.
