Because they only put one DSG in an RS6 and that was ours, once they saw how awesome it was, they realized the world would implode if it were to do this ever again.
He came dancing across the water
With his galleons and guns
Looking for the new world
In that palace in the sun
On the shore lay Montezuma
With his cocoa leaves and pearls
Because its rubbish?
Does the additional weight and complexity, and slow speed jerkiness justify being able to change gear slightly faster than you might otherwise be able?
IMHO, not at all; being able to change gear in the blink of an eye is nothing but marketing-hype and a novelty in a road car.
Maybe if you are racing an F1 car, it might be important, but even if you are racing a Golf, more time could probably be extracted from sorting tyres, brakes and suspension.
There might be a connection in the fact that all DSG cars so far have a torque output of c.236 lb ft or less, and the R8 & RS6 have more, considerably so in the case of the RS6.
