    Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X question

Why is the tread pattern different for the car? It's really bugging me.

Having different treads on left and right sides don't seem to make sense.

On a sidenote, it looks fantastic! (the exterior, not the tires)

It's most likely just to show different tire options. Sometimes cars are displayed with different sets of rims just to show multiple possibilities.

Or maybe it's a prototype which was rushed for press pics and they didn't bother with the tyres it had on each side.

Maybe it allows for optimal grip? Who knows, maybe it was an error, maybe it was done on purpose.
I'm dropping out to create a company that starts with motorcycles, then cars, and forty years later signs a legendary Brazilian driver who has a public and expensive feud with his French teammate.

They'll take it out on the track, and which ever side of the car produces the most G's in a corner will determine which tires they'll use in the end .

At least in my country it's illegal to have different thread types on the same axle. It can differ from front to back, but it has to be the same on the same axle. I think it is like this pretty much everywhere..
