You have been regularly visiting an automotive information site for roughly one year, have posted over 2,200 times... yet don't seem to at all comprehend the resource available to you. The impression is one of vapid use rather than genuine interest.
Try changing that; increase your knowledge and the validity of your input.
You aren't wrong that the Montreal took styling cues from American muscle, but you didn't KNOW that, it was just your "impression". Opinion is fine but without objective understanding there can be no subjective. Had you some fleeting knowledge of the model you wouldn't feel the need to make a mealy apology for your post. I'm trying hard here to be polite, so please make an effort to utilize UCP in a more serious manner. Relevant posts of more than 10 syllables will be acceptable. Be a contributor... believe me, most of us would prefer to see your mature and thoughtful efforts for inclusion in UCP's forums.
Your birth year cars, as an example: what and why would they be your choices?

You see csl, I agree word for word and I wouldn't have been able to be as nice as you.
Thanks.
PS. I still disagree with the muscle car cues, but anyway.
Lack of charisma can be fatal.
Visca Catalunya!
The bottom half is mistakable as a muscle car.
You guys should ease up.

Yeah, but you're Spanish.
Downright twinkle toed, 'ballz. I am admittedly too old and cranky for CG's sig, though:
Mah boi, UCP is what all true warriors strive for! (huh?... or)
PINGAS!!!!
Spanish pronunciation /ˈpin·ga/
Noun: pinga (also as plural/multiple (fem.) pingas)
Singular: pinga
Plural (fem.): pingas
(Latin America, vulgar slang) masculine genitalia, prick, cock; a Dick
1. The male sexual genitalia. 2- someone who acts in the manner of the male genitalia.
Girl: Hey, let me see your pinga.
Virgin Guy: But don't you want to see my grill first?
Often exclaimed while drinking cheap tequila. I understand it's also Oz slang for Ecstasy.
Works for me.

The Montreal became so named at launch in 1970 because it had been shown at the Montreal motor show in 1967. So kind of makes moot all the "Muscle car" design claims which really only moved on to the more "swoop" designs in the late 69/70 years, no ?
However, regardless of heritage, it woudl be one of my list of possibilities for a 1970 b'day
"A woman without curves is like a road without bends, you might get to your destination quicker but the ride is boring as hell'
Ah..my year of birth isn't known for any outstanding creations, at least for me - too heavy in terms of looks and often underdeveloped and unsound. 1989 (like almost all eighties) was quite boring in terms of cars, if we don't take motorsports into account, as I understand that we are discussing production vehicles here.
Among them all, my choice would probably be a Ferrari F40.
P.S. Erm..does it count? It wasn't introduced in 1989, but was produced then...

They may not be clasically beautiful, but there were good looking cars in the eighties, and at least they were unique.
Also not only homologations specials were fast, but regular cars too. In the eighties many new technologies were popularised and cars were still light and people not concerned about being too green.
And finally, in the 80's you could still find a lot variety and manufacturers which were still true to their principles. The cars from each manufacturer were unique and distinct from each other. And that's something that is missed today.
