    Pininfarina Hyperion first pics

I think it hasn't been posted yet. If I'm wrong feel free to flame me

This are the first official pics of the R-R Drophead Coupe based Hyperion by Pininfarina. It will debut this week at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.

I'm not quite sure what to think of it. 'Interesting' is probably the most suitable word

It's not denial. I'm just very selective about the reality I accept.

the profile is ok, the but the front and rear ends are simply weird. it's the classic feeling I have when looking to renderings, and those are too low on quality for a good judgment.
the real problem is that this car is already huge, with a huge bonnet, now that it has been enlarged, I think it could still be proportioned but too big if parked side by side with something which isn't this

    I quite like it.

Coachbuilding is making a comeback apparently. Good.
Lack of charisma can be fatal.

very good, no matter if the cars are good looking, astonishing or as ugly as hell, limited edition cars or one-offs are usually very interesting even in the littler details, and stand out from the banal-standard-impersonal looking of all our poor men's cars.

I don't like it. It just seems to contradict itself in style. Boxy look of a rolls-royce gone fluid.

and if by "coachbuilding" they mean "z0mg i can has camry solara rear end in teh rollz0r!" they did a pretty good job

also, interestingly, i got a banner saying "need an hyperion expert?" when i loaded this page.

I think with some minor adjustments, like the headlights for starters, it would be rather nice.

the front looks like it has a very wide exhaust pipe running across it, and the roff's profile is horrendous. otherwise, its ugly in a graceful sort of way

The pics are bigger, but the car doesn't look any better

    I don't like this pininfarina

    Hi.
I'm new to the forum. I saw this picture. I may say it's not what I'm used to see in Pininfarina. It looks classy, but did not like it.
Probably I'm used to see more sporty designs from the Pininfarina house.

well, it's true, usually Pininfarina designs cars which express more dynamism than this, it looks heavy in a way.
But, being a one-off, we can't say how much the designer is responsible, or the owner. Of course, being a Rolls Drophead the base for this car, we couldn't expect something really sporty and nimble.
I don't know if I like this more than the standard or vice versa, but I really appreciate it being a personal creation and an effort to the revival of the one-off realization trend.

Edit: oh, I forgot....Welcome on board!
