Got it last night and had a go. Looks really good, the car sounds are excellent as well. However, the AI is still damn annoying and the car's just seem to understeer no matter what. If you were driving a GT3 RSR and gave it full throttle at turn in, would you expect it to:
1) Spin out?
2) Or understeer off into the guardrail at high-speed?

Depends on how fast I entered the corner..
looks good! But I must say, i think the interiors arent as nice as Shift. But it is just a demo....
im just glad they have interior view now...

Yea, downloaded it today. A bit disappointed that the cabin view isn't as virtual as some other games (like Dirt 2), but it's still nice and well done. Graphics are right about what I expected, and the framerate is silky smooth. The racing felt pretty standard as far as Forza goes, just waiting to see how the new career mode stacks up in the final copy. Also looking for some nice additions to the game's tuning options.
I've got some pretty big expectations for this one....I hope it doesn't come across feeling like Forza 2.5

It has staging clips, which are naff and make me hit buttons to try and skip. Also, no button customisation, but that'll be back in for the full release. Cockpit view is good, but not as detailed as NFS: Shift. Also after Shift, there's less sense of speed. My main complaint from F2 is back, the steering is too slow. You try to apply opposite lock (turn the other way in a slide) and the 'driver' slowly turns the wheel.. yawwn.. there it is, far too late to correct the slide. Hopefully there'll be a slider for that in the full release... Elsewise.. well, I'll be buying it at release.
I agree. The sense of speed is still lost to the developers. NFS Shift feels much more realistic in that aspect.
but it doesnt matter, this game will still be awesome
EDIT: example of speed in Shift...you will also notice that the "head" of the driver moves back and forth with accel and decel. this is a nice addition to sense of realism I wish Forza had

One of the things I find most exciting about this game is the four wheel drives. I loved PGR2 because of the 5 or 6 you had to choose from and it's been a long time since that I've seen any game make a real attempt at 4x4s so it will be extra nice to have the ability to change the wheels, engine mods etc.
Agreed. I get the impression that the in-car view for FM3 was something that was brought in late in the game. I'm hoping there's a better sense of being in the seat for the final game (being able to turn and look out of the car in a 180 degree arc would be nice). But in the demo it just seems like a dash board and steering wheel pasted over the screen.
But like you said, this game will really make up for it in so many other ways. Let's just hope in the future that the Forza developers aim for that level of realistic in-car immersion that games like Dirt and Shift have brought to the genre.

good to see some holdens, albeit rebadged ones. maybe they'll do the vauxhall thing again.
i liked the demo when i tried the GT3RSR, but when i use the california it felt wierd, sluggish - like the roads and tires were made out of bubblegum.

Feel sorta foolish now. Just figured out last night that you can pan your view around inside the cockpit view.....just have to push up on the right stick and circle it around. Hope they let you adjust that.
