The original E28 M5 has to be in the running (not the U.S models with the hideous bumpers)

I don't know much about classics so my choices are quite limited, but the Alfa 159 looks good to me

Wasn't the old one technically a Lagonda Rapide?

technically you are correct
However, Rapide has always been a Lagonda name (even before David Brown took over), so now an Aston Martin Rapide is a bit bullshit. Whatever they recently did to revive the name Lagonda was even worse, but that ghastly project has luckily been suspended.

Just look at those lines .. the proportions .. from those few, absolute peak years in classic-era styling, which is the best era imo

To be honest I wasn't aware there was an old one. I meant the new one.

I have to say that the old one is also good looking for its era.

Lot's of good ones. Jag has a few, so do the Italians. I will disagree with any BMW. I think they peaked in the late 90s with clean cut designs that looked good and age well. That doesn't mean they are close to classic. I think one that springs to my mind are the various 1960s Lincoln Continentals. Very distinct and very classy looking.

Some of my candidates:
1. 1959 Buick
2. 1957 Lincoln
3. 1961 Lincoln
4. Facel Vega Excellence

There are others, but at this moment in time these are what spring to mind.
