apparently while i wasn't noticing i managed to drive 214mph last night while driving the mini through Cape Cod, MA. i knew i had made it over 100, but i didnt think by that much. but my garmin gps told me thats what its max speed for that trip was. it had been in the 80s earlier in the day.

sorry about the poor picture quality, my wife took the picture while we were driving in the dark.

I'm doing 214mph all the time!

This weekend drove with a friend on a highway (friend was driving) and did a 260km/h (empty highway). Now, funny thing is, we didn't notice the cops that were following us... Cops only managed to do a 220km/h and saw our car getting smaller. But after a while we slowed down to a 170, then the cops saw us again and pulled there sirene etc on.

Driver license pulled in for 2 weeks and probabably a ticket. Cops said I had to drive, and my friend was driving an M3... For once, I agreed with what the cops said!

    Nice. Very responsible.

Those 2 weeks are probably temporary. After that he'll go to court and could probably face up to 5 years without a license if they were able to measure that 260km/h. If not he can consider himself really ****ing lucky.

165km/h yesterday in an 8 year old white Scenic 1.6e Mk I.

By the way does anyone know if the top speed in the Mini Cooper S (the previous supercharged one) is achieved in fifth or sixth?

well, 5th will take you to about 120-125, and you have to be going that fast before you shift to 6th, otherwise it takes you all day to get there. eventually in 6th you can get to 130-135, depending on year, hp, and aero mods on the car
