Bonhams Goodwood Revival sale preview with DB4 GT and pink Spice ...

At set fixture at the Goodwood Revival is the annual Bonhams auction. Next week will be no exception and today we take a look at a pair of the most interesting cars consigned to the sale. The absolute headliner is this Aston Martin DB4 GT. It comes from a single ownership of 28 years and was a factory demonstrator in period. Its first private owner was Donald Campbell, who remains the only man to hold both the world speed record on land and water at the same time. Restored by Swiss specialists during the 2000s, chassis 0161/R is estimated to sell for in excess of GBP 2.2 million.
Somewhat more modestly priced is this striking, pink Spice SE90C, which was entered at Le Mans in 1991 for an all-female driver line-up. Sadly accidents in qualifying and early in the race meant the effort was not a success. It did do very well in historic racing, particularly during the 2000s when it was owned by David Mercer. Meticulously restored and ready to go, the SE90C Group C car can be yours for around GBP200,000 - 260,000.
Ahead of the official launch in Frankfurt next week, Seat's performance subsidiary revealed the Tavascan Concept. The two electric motors fitted produce a combined 302bhp, while the all-electric show-car has a range of 450km.
