4chan is a simple image-based bulletin board where anyone can post comments and share images. 4chan's collaborative-community format is copied from one of the most popular forums in Japan, Futaba Channel. Different boards are dedicated to different topics, from Japanese anime, manga, and culture to videogames, music, and photography. Users do not need to register a username before participating in the community. Feel free to click on a board that interests you, and jump right in—anyone can contribute!

That's ripped off their frontpage, just go look at it if you actually want to know...

uh oh oriely says no, i cant go haha

seriously though...thats retarded. 1) its better for "internet pedophiles" to be looking at pornography than it is for them to be trying to get real children. 2) its the internet, 4chan is not their only avenue to get porn with young looking girls on it. 3) do people talk to eachother on 4chan or not really? cause as long as the so called "internet pedophiles" arent picking up on kids on there, then its not a problem.

also what makes it far left? it sounds like it really isn't a political website at all.

It's hard to explain it really. Essentially it's a website with a bunch of 'forum' categories, one of which is labeled 'random' or, /b/. Everyone who posts there is anonymous and all messages are pretty much meant in shock. Be it porn, dark humor, internet memes, or complete nonsense. You would have to go there and experience it.

Go back to the meme part, what is it? I have never used the word before. I tried looking it up but I get stuff like "lolcats", "Fail" and the like.
