On a rumor in AutoWeek, it said there could be a MazdaSpeed 3 coming out with 265 hp (same engine as the MazdaSpeed 6, but loses hp) and might not have AWD. I hope this juicy car is for real.

2006 Monte Carlo SS is 303 hp and has FWD.
But yeah, I agree that it SHOULD be AWD.
No, AWD will just make it too heavy like the MS 6. It'll just be a total rip-off.
I say RWD. Fast, light, good handling with stability control.
There's a better chance it'll be FWD or AWD rather than RWD. RWD is a dream that will probably never be fulfilled.Originally Posted by spi-ti-tout

It's pretty much what I thought. It's really too bad people don't like to pay a little more for a better car. And the people who I'm talking about are Americans. "If I'm paying more, I should be getting something bigger!' Very very dumb mentality.Originally Posted by KnifeEdge_2K1
well the thing is, most people will never use the advantages rwd presents, for most more legroom and cabin space takes precident over handling and acceleration
even if the 3 came out with rwd i wouldnt buy it mainly because the concept doesnt make sense
it's an econobox sedan that's suppose to deliver everything EXCEPT performance
It'd be perfect for Rally purposes. I mean look at what Rally cars are based off of: Lancer, Impreza, Focus, 205, 206, Lancia Delta, etc.Originally Posted by KnifeEdge_2K1
Since the 3 uses the same platform as the REAL new Ford Focus it would really be like the next Ford Focus RS.
Most of these cars are basic compact cars at first but when modified are perfect Rally cars.
