    Techie Question

a few questions for all the techies here:

    1. Is there any possible way to rig a sim card phone to work on a GSM (i think it is called that) network?

    2. If not, can you buy phones that are the same type of network and get them to work on said network, even if the phone is not on the networks website?

    3. Is there a camera/PDA/phone/qwerty keyboard combo that is reccomended?

A GSM phone has a SIM. You can use any GSM phone on a GSM network. In the US you are forced (mostly) to buy whatever your carrier sells. But, you can use any GSM phone you want provided it's compatible with American frequencies. (In europe we have 900/1800 mhz in the US GSM uses 850mhz and 1900mhz).
CDMA phones are NOT compatible with GSM networks.

I have no idea what you mean with question 3.

I class myself as "in the know" when it comes to PDA's, so if you need to know something just ask
